📚✨ Study Hall & Core Learning Blocks — How It Works

Updated: Aug 22, 2025

Hello Freedom Learners Families,

Welcome to a new season of learning, growing, and leading together! As part of your membership, your child participates in our structured learning flow designed to build focus, confidence, and real community connections.

Here’s how it works:

✅ 1. MAQ Morning Meetings

Each learning day begins with our Mindfulness, Affirmations, and Quotes (MAQ) Morning Meeting) — to set intentions, share inspiring words, and get centered for the day.

✅ 2. Core Curriculum Blocks

Students join two-hour Core Curriculum sessions covering their main subjects in a supportive group setting. These sessions provide the foundation for strong, consistent progress.

✅ 3. Mandatory Study Hall

Each Core Block is paired with a two-hour Study Hall that is required for all learners. This is a focused time for students to:• Work independently on assignments and projects• Get support from older peers who help guide younger students (the protégé effect)• Build confidence by asking questions and sharing what they know with each other.

✅ 4. Parent Supervision

Parents are required to supervise once a month during a Study Hall block on a rotating schedule. During your supervision day, you are not expected to tutor or teach. Your role is to:

• Make sure rules and community guidelines are followed

• Keep the space calm, safe, and focused

• Ensure respectful behavior and prevent distractions or inappropriate conduct

• Encourage learners to stay engaged and help redirect if needed

We believe this shared responsibility keeps our community strong and safe for everyone.

📌 How to Get Ready

✅ Choose [x] amount of days per week for your child’s Core + Study Hall + MAQ sessions

✅ Check your assigned parent supervision day each month and add it to your calendar

✅ Visit the [Parent Supervision Resources] section in the Members Hub for simple tips on how to keep Study Hall running smoothly. By working together, our learners grow as leaders and learn to respect one another. Thank you for helping create a space where freedom, curiosity, and community thrive!

We appreciate you showing up, leading by example, and helping us nurture the next generation of free thinkers.
